About Aspora People on the move deserve a bank that moves with them. Since 2022, Aspora has been building a borderless financial operating system that makes money as mobile and transparent as its users. Backed by influential venture capitalists like Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Hummingbird Ventures, Y Combinator & Global Founders Capital. We're a team of 150+ across India, the UK, the UAE, EU and the US, working with extreme ownership, radical candour, and an obsession with customer impact. We celebrate builders who question assumptions, ship fast, and turn regulatory complexity into elegant solutions. If you’re driven to redefine what global banking can be, we’d love to build the future with you.
About
the Role This role exists to build Aspora's AML operations function from the ground up. We're a regulated fintech scaling fast, and we need someone who can make compliance operational: owning the day-to-day execution of our AML/CFT framework, not just advising on it. You will be Aspora's named AML function lead with the Bank of Lithuania. You'll hire and shape
the team covering KYC, transaction monitoring, and investigations. You work closely with the MLRO and report directly to the CEO. This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. The systems,
the team, the metrics — you define how they work.
What You'll Own Own all AML/CFT operations: KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and the end-to-end investigation and escalation process Build the AML operational team from zero — define the hiring roadmap, onboard KYC and TM Specialists, and set quality standards Drive operational AML performance: monitor KPIs, manage alert backlogs, track quality metrics, and implement corrective actions with speed Shape and tune AML systems in partnership with IT and product: threshold calibration, alert optimisation, and workflow improvements that reduce noise and catch what matters Ensure Aspora's AML/CFT record-keeping, audit readiness, and regulatory responsiveness meet BoL
requirements at all times.
Who You Are 5+ years in AML/CFT, with at least 2 in a team lead or supervisory capacity, ideally inside a BoL-regulated or EU-licensed payments or fintech entity. Deep hands-on experience across KYC, transaction monitoring, and investigations — you've run the function, not just reviewed the output Proven ability to tune and improve AML systems: you understand threshold calibration, alert logic, and what good looks like operationally High ownership. You treat compliance gaps as yours to close, not yours to escalate upward Comfortable building structure in early-stage environments: you've written the playbooks before, and you'll write them here Fluent in English at a professional level; Lithuanian at a working level Strong advantage: direct experience with BoL-regulated entities and comfort using AI tools as part of day-to-day compliance work. Why Aspora Build Aspora's AML function as its named lead: the systems,
the team, the standards — you own what this looks like at scale Work directly with the MLRO and CEO on a compliance framework that has to hold up across multiple jurisdictions and a fast-growing user base Shape how a regulated fintech approaches AML operationally, using modern tooling and AI in a function that still runs on spreadsheets at most companies Join at a point where your decisions compound: what you build now becomes the institutional baseline as Aspora grows Competitive salary and ESOPs aligned with Aspora's long-term vision. Location Vilnius, Lithuania This role is in-office in Vilnius, as required by the Bank of Lithuania for the named AML function lead position.
