JOB SUMMARY We are looking for a Backend Developer with hands-on experience in Java or Golang to design, build, and own backend systems that power our core product. This is an individual contributor role for someone who can take a feature from requirement to production without close supervision, and who has real experience designing distributed systems at scale. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and build backend services, APIs, and asynchronous systems from the ground up. Own distributed systems design - handling concurrency, failure modes, and scale. Take features from requirement to production with end-to-end ownership. Collaborate directly with Product and QA teams to ensure features work as intended. Monitor production systems, identify issues early, and resolve them quickly. Participate in code reviews and contribute to system design discussions. Improve performance and reliability of existing backend services. REQUIRED SKILLS AND

QUALIFICATIONS 3-8 years of hands-on backend engineering experience in a product or startup environment. Proficiency in Java, Golang, or both, with production-quality coding experience. Proven experience designing and running distributed systems, not just theoretical knowledge. Strong fundamentals in REST API design and microservices architecture. Solid understanding of database design and query performance, relational and/or NoSQL. Demonstrated ability to own a module or feature end to end. Experience working in a startup or product company environment. PREFERRED SKILLS Experience with both Java and Golang. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Exposure to message queues or event-driven architecture, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. Experience working on testing, observability, or developer tooling products.
