Veritus is building the AI workforce for financial services. Our voice agents handle inbound and outbound calls at scale - answering questions, negotiating payments, and closing accounts - for lenders, servicers, and collections agencies. Our customers are running real production volume on Veritus today, with results that genuinely move the P&L: agents responsible for half of every dollar collected, recoveries up nearly 70% in the first month of deployment, and 1 in 5 collections calls handled by our AI ending in a payment.
We're a Y Combinator-backed team based in San Francisco, led by a serial founder with an experienced team - and already working with brand-name clients on seven-figure contracts. We've gotten here on purely founder-led sales, and now are bringing on our founding SDR to build the outbound motion from the ground up and turn that early signal into a real, repeatable pipeline engine.
About the role
This is not a typical SDR job, and isn't for someone who wants to come in and execute an existing playbook - we're looking for someone with a founder mentality who wants to built out a new AI-native SDR playbook from the ground up, working shoulder-shoulder with our founder & CEO.
You'll leverage Claude and other cutting-edge AI tools extensively to supercharge your personal productivity and effectiveness, helping you to research accounts, draft hyper-personalized outreach, map org charts, and synthesize industry signals in minutes, not hours. If anything you do is repetitive, you should be building a Claude skill to do it. Ultimately, it's all with the goal of helping us to build a huge pipeline of consumer lenders and collections agencies.
What you'll do
Partner directly with the CEO on founder-led sales. Join every discovery call you source. Build a first-hand understanding of what closes and what doesn't in this buyer segment.
Own the outbound motion. Source accounts, build target lists, write sequences, make the calls, send the emails, show up to the events. This is a hunter role, not a lead-assignment role.
Sell to regulated financial services buyers. Your ICP is VPs and C-suite at consumer lenders (banks, BNPL, personal loans, auto, subprime) and collections operators.
Run an AI-native prospecting stack. Claude is your co-pilot. You'll use Claude to research companies, map buying committees, draft personalized outreach, analyze call transcripts, and build competitive intel. You'll also use Apollo, HubSpot, Gong, and whatever else works - but if Claude can do it, Claude does it.
Feed the product and positioning. Every objection, every "we already use X", every regulatory landmine you hit becomes input that sharpens Veritus's pitch and roadmap. You'll be as close to the product as anyone on the team.
Represent Veritus in public. Industry events (RMAi, ACA, Money20/20 etc), customer dinners, SF-based meetups. If consumer lending and collections operators are in a room, we want you there.
Write the playbook. Every cold email that works, every call script that converts, every account-mapping workflow you build becomes the foundation for the next SDRs we hire.
Who you are
AI-native. You already use Claude every day. You've built prompt workflows. You've tried Clay. AI is a teammate, not a toy.
A hunter. 1-3 years of SDR/BDR experience at a high-growth startup, ideally selling into financial services or regulated industries. Top-of-cohort performance, President's Club, or clear evidence you outperformed peers.
A founder in training. You want to build, not execute someone else's playbook. High standards for your own output. No tolerance for sloppy work.
Comfortable with regulatory weight. Consumer lending and collections are heavily regulated. You don't need to be a compliance expert on day one - but you respect the regulatory context and learn it quickly.
In San Francisco and in-office. Founding teams compound in person. You want to be in the room.
What success looks like
30 days: Onboarded on Veritus product and the regulatory landscape. Running your own outbound sequences. Booked your first 3-5 qualified meetings.
90 days: Hitting monthly meeting quota. Built a working account-research and outreach workflow in Claude that cuts prep time by half. Contributed to your first closed-won deal.
180 days: Consistently over quota. Shipping playbooks other reps use. Speaking fluently about FDCPA/TCPA/CFPB in discovery calls. Sourced pipeline directly tied to revenue.
12-18 months: Ready for promotion to Senior SDR, SDR Team Lead, or Account Executive depending on your level of experience and where the business needs you most.
Compensation & Benefits
OTE: $115,000 ($75K base + $40K variable, uncapped with accelerators over quota)
Equity: 0.05%-0.15% depending on experience

Office: San Francisco HQ, 3-4 days/week. Meals and snacks provided.
Why this role, right now
You'll be our first go-to-market hire. Every major deal Veritus closes in the next 12 months will have your fingerprints on it. You'll learn more about AI, sales, and regulated financial services in your first 90 days here than most SDRs learn in two years. If we win, the comp outcome from your equity will be far larger than the base + variable above.
