About
the Role As a Flight Software Engineer you will design, develop, and deploy software flown onboard a fleet of novel low-Earth orbit spacecraft. You will engage with other software engineers, electrical engineers, and mission operations engineers to ensure flight software meets the needs of the mission throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.
Responsibilities Develop reliable autonomous software systems and the infrastructure to support rigorous testing and large-scale in-space deployment Own all aspects of development, including: concept design, implementation, testing, and release Implement software to support command and data handling, guidance navigation and control, and fault detection and isolation Support on-orbit operations through continued development and over-the-air updates Minimum
Qualifications Demonstrated excellence working on a comparable software project 3+ Years of C/C++ Experience Ideal
Qualifications Prior experience developing flight software for spacecraft or similar high-reliability products Development experience on ARM microcontroller and embedded Linux platforms Strong skills in debugging, unit testing, and integrated flight software/day in the life testing Strong understanding of computer networking Experience with fault-tolerant software design including watchdogs, voting logic, error correction codes, and fault detection and isolation Exposure to industry software standards and best practices such as MISRA-C and JSF Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with evolving needs and requirement Even if you don’t meet 100% of the above
