Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer role within Palantir's Baseline team, a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineering team of about 90 people globally.
Responsibilities include building, operating, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable services for Palantir platforms and deployments. Core
responsibilities: handling support and operations of Palantir software including monitoring and alerting, configuration management, and upgrades; deploying new Palantir products at customer deployments and performing migrations to latest infrastructure types; debugging, improving, and optimizing Palantir's services and infrastructure with focus on long-term reliability and scalability; reducing manual operations and automating workflows and runbooks; providing technical troubleshooting support for production issues; and participating in support on-call schedule. Engineers are responsible for operations of their services in production and work closely with forward deployed teams and product teams on systems design. Tech stack includes Java, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Linux, and cloud computing across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, SRE, or related field with hands-on production experience in containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible) or CI/CD pipeline work, and strong Java proficiency. Must have active US security clearance (TS or TS/SCI), be based in or willing to relocate to DC area, and able to travel up to 50% of time. On-call weeks require on-site presence. Background in defense tech or high-complexity technical organizations is a plus. Computer science or computer engineering degree expected.
