The founding engineer will work closely with Eric, the CTO, to build everything except the AI storytelling engine — including the tech stack, the playing engine, the creation engine, and all different features.
The role requires someone autonomous and opinionated who can take direction from the CTO while also challenging decisions. Strong human relationships and collaboration are essential at this stage. The candidate should have at least 2-3 years of deeply technical work experience, ideally with zero-to-one product building experience, and a track record of shipping and running strong systems. For younger candidates, a strong full-stack profile could be considered, but the founding engineer role needs to be experienced and solid.
