About the role
We are looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer with 6+ YOE to join Effective AI's core product team. We need an opinionated builder who can ship complex, stateful UI systems from scratch — without designs handed down — and has the product instincts to make the right calls independently. This is our highest priority hire, driven by the growing complexity of our agentic platform and the immediate need to build foundational UX patterns for multi-agent AI workflows.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build the stateful chat and session UI that sits at the core of our product — the hard part is state management and edge case handling, not implementing designs
- Build a greenfield app platform dashboard from scratch: history, checkpoints, rollback, publish flow, and loading states (reference points: Lovable, Replit, Base44)
- Own and maintain a shared UI component library used by both the web app and the AI agent itself as it builds customer-facing applications
- Write UI guidelines and styling patterns that the AI agent follows when generating frontend code — you are making the agent a better frontend engineer
- Identify and build out end-to-end UI testing infrastructure, including exploring natural language test frameworks
