Member of Technical Staff - Platform Engineering

Halluminate is looking to hire Founding Members of Technical Staff to own platform engineering, develop frontier long-horizon RL environments, and help build our engineering org from the ground up.

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Build our RL environment training/inference infrastructure to support customer usage at scale
• Research and develop next-generation RL environments that are increasingly realistic, long-horizon, and difficult for frontier models.
• Building software to 10-100x the quality and throughput of RL environment creation
• Innovate on synthetic data pipelines to create realistic problems
• Create platform analytics to track data on our RL environment costs, hours, bottlenecks, and subject matter expert management
• Crafting domain-specific verifiers for financial services verticals and beyond (ex. verifiable rewards for powerpoint building, excel modeling, quantitative trading)
• Establish engineering culture and practices from the ground up

Necessary Skills Include:

• Familiarity building evaluations / benchmarks / RL for AI agents
• Startup Speed: Iterate quick, ask questions quick, respond to messages quick, make mistakes quick
• Product / user ownership, ability to prioritize between a large roadmap of features
• Client-facing capabilities - you need to be comfortable talking to users/customers/SMEs

Nice To Have:

• Research backgrounds (ex. training models, publishing papers)
• Former founders / experience with early-stage startups
