About the role
As a Ground Systems Software Engineer you will work directly with the Turion team in the planning, development, and implementation of the Turion Space Mission Control System. This system will be the central nervous system of DROID missions and will be responsible for commanding and managing all DROID satellites. Your experience, creativity, and ambition will directly impact the way Turion Space operates as it continues to grow in scale and complexity.
Responsibilities
- Own all aspects of the software engineering and product development
- Actively interface with users to learn their problems and create efficient solutions
- Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews
- Create new applications that improve how Turion Space operates
Qualifications
- BS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of software development experience
- Experience in full-stack development
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test software from scratch
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Preferred skills and experience
- Programming experience in Ruby, C#, Java, or similar object-oriented language
- Experience with the NodeJS framework
- Experience designing and building microservices
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with Jira or other defect-tracking software
- Experience building complex systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
