What we're looking for?
We’re seeking an experienced Supplier Industrialization Engineer with expertise in mechanical assemblies and high-volume manufacturing. You’ll build and develop our supplier base, lead products from NPI to mass production, and establish the supplier industrialization function at Biofire. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous startup environment.
What you'll do:
- Own and build the entire mechanical supply base, from supplier identification and qualification to volume production.
- Take ownership of the supplier development process, acting as the primary technical representative with suppliers to resolve issues without constant reliance on the internal engineering team.
- Work closely with Product Engineering to provide DFM feedback and ensure designs are optimized for high-volume manufacturing.
- Vet supplier production capabilities, including die casting, metal injection molding, stamping, and rolling, to build a robust and reliable supply chain.
- Lead the bring-up of new supplier tooling and production lines to meet quality, performance, and capacity requirements.
- Drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) initiatives with suppliers to eliminate risks and improve quality and reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
