Ditto is an AI-powered matchmaking service built for college students that eliminates swiping and in-app messaging in favor of fully planned, real-world dates. Operating entirely through iMessage, Ditto collects user preferences and availability, runs AI simulations across the user pool, and delivers one curated date invitation each Wednesday evening — including time, location, and match details. Founded in 2023 by UC Berkeley dropouts Allen Wang and Eric Liu, the company has grown to 130,000+ users across UC system schools and USC, and raised $9.2M in seed funding in February 2026.

Allen Wang
Allen Wang, 22–23 years old as of 2025–2026, is a UC Berkeley Computer Science dropout who co-founded Ditto with Eric Liu. The origin story centers on helping a roommate find a girlfriend before graduation — an experiment that went viral at UC San Diego and snowballed into a VC-backed company. Before startups, Wang was a high school sneaker reseller in Irvine, California, building a six-figure side hustle flipping limited-edition shoes. Known for unconventional marketing tactics including wrapping a Cybertruck in Ditto branding, hosting Black Mirror–themed dating experiences, and organizing large-scale yacht parties. Goes by 'Chief Cupid Officer' on Twitter/X.
