About the role
We are looking for a Head of Design to join Jimini as our first full-time design leader — the person who will define what great design looks like across our patient-facing and clinician-facing products. We need a hands-on senior product designer with 7+ years of experience and a consumer and engagement focus, deep craft in interaction and visual design, and a proven track record of building design functions from scratch. This is a top priority hire as we scale our product and deepen partnerships with major mental health organizations across the country.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end patient journeys — from onboarding through ongoing therapeutic support — designing experiences that feel warm, trustworthy, and genuinely helpful
- Design Sage's conversational AI experience, making AI-powered interactions feel empathetic and human rather than clinical or robotic
- Own the clinician UX for the Sage Clinician Platform, building tools that reduce cognitive load and help therapists understand their patients' week in seconds
- Define Jimini's design language — visual identity, component library, interaction patterns, and brand expression across product and marketing
- Establish design culture and process — crits, documentation standards, handoff rituals, and ways of working that will scale as the team grows
- Partner with product and engineering as a full owner — shaping what gets built, not just how it looks
- Use AI tools actively to prototype faster and iterate — including Figma Make, vibe coding, and eventually pushing code with support
- Raise the bar on trust signals, safety design, and clarity at every touchpoint for both patients and providers
