About the role
We are looking for an Implementation Team Lead with 5–7+ years of experience to join Tabs as a player-coach leader on the Implementation team. You'll manage 2–4 Implementation Managers while staying hands-on with customer onboarding, helping Tabs scale from 8M to 24M ARR and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to shape a department from the ground up at a fast-growing, AI-native fintech backed by Lightspeed, General Catalyst, and Primary.
What will you be doing?
- Manage and develop a team of 2–4 Implementation Managers, including performance reviews and career growth — not just mentorship
- Own end-to-end customer implementations: from kickoff call through go-live, aligning Tabs to each customer's existing financial workflows
- Serve as the domain expert on accounting and AR processes, engaging directly with CFOs, controllers, and finance leaders
- Drive project management rigor — set timelines, hold customers accountable to milestones, and maintain implementation roadmaps for complex multi-month projects
- Partner cross-functionally with GTM, Customer Success, and Product/Engineering to close gaps and influence the product roadmap
Key Requirements
- Active implementation experience — this is a player-coach role, not a pure management position
- Proven people management experience including performance reviews (not just mentorship); 1+ year at a startup or 3+ years in a more corporate environment
- Deep domain expertise in accounting and finance — must speak the language of accountants, controllers, and AR workflows
- 5 days/week in-office at our Soho, NYC office — non-negotiable
- Background in fintech, SaaS, or accounting software; ERP integration experience (e.g., NetSuite, Sage) strongly preferred
