Vapi (/ˈVɑːpi/): We’re creating the shift to voice as humanity’s default interface We’re the most configurable platform for deploying voice agents We’ve grown to over 700k developers in two years, adding 2,000+ every day Try talking to Vapi now! Why We’re Hiring This Role: Enterprise revenue 5×’ed in a year and is a big focus. The companies writing the big checks aren’t just developers anymore: they’re legal teams, compliance officers, ops and IT leaders, and procurement orgs who need voice AI they can actually govern. We need a Principal PM who understands that the real product isn’t just the agent: it’s the trust infrastructure around it. Live guardrails, audit trails, monitoring, compliance — particularly hard to do with voice AI in two-way live high-stakes interactions with customers. This person will be critical to the success of the company. What You’ll Do: 30 Day: Become unreasonably dangerous on the Vapi platform and the enterprise buyer landscape: the product, the deals, the friction, the gaps. Map where enterprise deals stall: legal, security, compliance reviews, feature gaps, onboarding. Write a “here’s the mess + here’s the opportunity” brief for the enterprise segment. Sharp. Ship one small thing that visibly unblocks a current customer. 60 Day: Turn your diagnosis into a crisp strategy — a defensible argument with a prioritization call. Own and publish a 12-month rolling roadmap for enterprise: the full stack of what it takes for a regulated business to trust voice AI in production. Ship one high-leverage improvement that moves adoption, expansion, or retention. Turn data into knowledge. It’s ok to be wrong. It’s not ok to not understand why. 90 Day: Deliver a step-function improvement in a core enterprise metric. You pick it, you defend it. Make governance feel like magic. Raise the bar across Vapi by demonstrating what great product management looks like: crisp specs, fast decisions, honest post-mortems, zero hand-holding required, data-driven prioritization, and magical product definition.
Who You Are: You’ve built product at a technical company where the buyers included legal, security, compliance, and procurement. You speak fluent API and fluent enterprise procurement. Both. In the same meeting. You’ve been in a security review, a BAA negotiation, and a legal hold conversation. You understand that for regulated industries, governance isn’t a nice-to-have — and you’re hungry to build more. You have a strong point of view on what AI means for the enterprise, and you’ve already been building with it. You don’t need a manager to tell you what matters. You see the problem, build the plan, ship, and report back with results. You’re data-driven and disciplined. You write like someone who respects the reader’s time. You debate timing, not value, with unusually high competence and low ego. You think fast is better than slow, and know the difference between “move fast” and “set money on fire.” You bring ~8+ years of product experience, including time owning an enterprise segment and/or compliance or governance at a technical product company. You like hanging out regularly with Karl the Fog in our San Francisco office. Why Vapi: Generational impact : Build the human interface for every business Ownership culture : 70% of the company are previous founders Kind team : The founders, Jordan and Nikhil, are Canadians Tier-1 Investors : YC, KP seed, Bessemer Series A What We Offer: Real stake : We offer a competitive salary and excellent equity ownership Comprehensive health coverage : medical, dental, and vision plans Team love : We love hanging out, and we do quarterly off-sites Flexible time off : take what you need More : catered meals, transportation, gym, and a $10k annual L&D budget
