About the role
We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff with 4+ years of experience to help build the AI platform that takes the manual drudgery out of the $1.5 trillion insurance industry. We want strong, curious engineers from mid-career up to senior, staff or principal level who work across the full stack and lean toward the backend. Startup experience is a big plus. You should be self-driven, take real ownership, ask questions without hesitation and be genuinely friendly to work with. Fulcrum went from zero to eight figures in revenue in 18 months, works with about 30% of the top 100 US brokerages and just raised a $25M Series A. We're growing the engineering team from 11 to 20 by January to keep up with demand.
What will you be doing?
- Scaling products that already have product-market fit from thousands of users to hundreds of thousands, and adding features that make them even more valuable
- Working on 0→1 projects in insurance workflows nobody has automated yet: exploring, experimenting and getting MVPs to customers quickly
- Building full-stack features with a backend focus, such as processing hundreds of very long PDFs and Excel files and building deep browser automations into legacy systems
- Helping turn Fulcrum's point solutions into one self-serve platform where customers pick the workflows they need
- Working closely with PMs, designers and customers so that what you build fits user needs and business goals
About Fulcrum
The $1.5 trillion insurance industry is powered by brokers. Every business needs insurance, and the brokerage industry is hamstrung by account management capacity. Account managers are constantly pulled in multiple directions—keying information into systems, chasing documents, doing mundane work—rather than focusing on the client interactions that actually matter. Most brokerages either outsource this work or grind through it manually.
We're building an AI platform to automate this insurance drudgery. Our platform already saves customers thousands of hours and millions of dollars every year. Our customers love the product—we have deep penetration within enterprise brokerages and genuinely enjoy making our customers' lives better. We just raised our Series A and are just getting started.
