Information about the position We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Panda team in Vinted’s Order domain . The Order domain powers core post-purchase experience at Vinted, covering everything from shipping, delivery and resolution to payout flows. It’s where trust in the marketplace becomes real: money needs to move correctly, orders need to progress reliably, and when complexity arises, our systems need to handle it with clarity and resilience. Within this space,
the team works on problems that sit at the intersection of transactions, payouts, compliance, and user experience. The work is deeply connected to initiatives such as DAC7 and Wallet, where engineering decisions need to balance regulatory
requirements, business goals, and what is right for the user. It’s a team with broad product reach: the systems you build here influence how Vinted operates across markets and how confidently members can use the platform. This role is for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems in high-impact systems, someone who can go deep technically, make pragmatic decisions in ambiguous spaces, and help others move faster through strong collaboration and engineering judgment. In this position, you’ll Work in a team of 5-10 engineers, engineering manager, product manager and decision scientist. Apply Agile and Lean principles in your work. Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews. Our pull requests move fast. Use AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and others to improve your code. See your code to affect millions of users almost instantly. Our main branch gets rolled out straight to production on each merge. With deployments many times per day. Work with diverse tech stack, including: languages: Ruby, Go; infrastructure: on-premise; databases/storage: MySQL, Redis; workflow orchestration: Temporal; monitoring/observability: Prometheus, Grafana. We don't expect you to be familiar with all of them beforehand, but we expect you will be excited to learn them fast. Write unit tests for all of the code you write and contribute to integration and e2e test writing and its usage. Take ownership of critical alerts and business metrics for your team to ensure our services achieve 99.9% availability. You will participate in on-call rotations to ensure our product performs well. Work on extracting services from the core order systems and solve the technical problems that come with it.
