About the role
What we're looking for:
We need someone with 2-3 years of dedicated IP docketing experience (US and foreign patent and trademark) who has hands-on USPTO electronic filing experience and strong knowledge of PCT and foreign filing procedural requirements. You should be comfortable managing high volumes of date-sensitive correspondence in a fast-paced law firm environment and have a track record of maintaining accurate, error-free docket records. Bonus points if you have annuity/maintenance fee management experience or have worked directly with foreign associates.
What you'll do:
- Manage daily docketing of US and foreign patent and trademark correspondence, ensuring all critical docket dates are accurately recorded
- Coordinate with the external docketing team to resolve outstanding docket issues and manage the Docket Box
- Review final deadlines on a weekly basis and proactively email attorneys and staff to obtain information needed to complete non-extendable deadlines
- Cross-train in annuity management to process annuity and maintenance fee payments (US and foreign) through a third-party vendor and correspond with foreign associates on related inquiries
- Perform regular quality control audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all docketing database entries
- Support IP attorneys and Senior Paralegals on US, PCT, and foreign prosecution matters, including preparing and filing documents and drafting formality documents for client signature
- Timely report official communications to clients and foreign associates
