Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Full-time

About the role

What we're looking for:

We need a hungry, coachable SDR with 2-5 years of B2B sales or outbound experience who can build pipeline from scratch targeting manufacturing and distribution companies. You should be comfortable making cold calls, sending personalized outreach at high volume, and thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment. Bonus points if you have experience selling into logistics, supply chain, or operations personas.

What you'll do:

  • Book qualified meetings with CEOs, COOs, and VPs of Operations at manufacturing and distribution companies, directly fueling Cartage's revenue growth

  • Run high-volume outbound outreach across phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate new pipeline for Account Executives

  • Build and manage personalized video outreach campaigns to stand out and drive engagement with target prospects

  • Research and identify new prospects using Clay, Sales Navigator, and LinkedIn to build targeted account lists

  • Manage and optimize AI-powered SDR workflows to maximize outreach efficiency and response rates

  • Collaborate closely with AEs to ensure smooth handoffs, high show rates, and strong feedback loops

  • Track and report daily activity metrics, continuously iterating on messaging and tactics to improve conversion

About Cartage

Cartage is a Y Combinator-backed AI startup reimagining how manufacturers and distributors manage their logistics. The company builds an AI-powered logistics platform centered around Wilson — an AI logistics coordinator that handles quotes, tracking, updates, and freight coordination around the clock.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in San Francisco, Cartage is on a mission to eliminate the manual grind of freight coordination for shippers. Instead of hiring and training logistics coordinators, companies can deploy Wilson — who learns their partners, customers, and processes, works 24/7, never forgets anything, and handles hundreds of conversations simultaneously.

Cartage's customers span a wide range of industries, from lumber mills and furniture companies to farms and wine distributors. They all trust Wilson to run their logistics operations seamlessly.

Backed by $2.4M in seed funding from Y Combinator, Paul Graham, Pioneer Fund, Wayfinder Ventures, Northside Ventures, Garage Capital, and Ritual Capital, Cartage is a small but fast-moving team of approximately 16 people. The culture is startup through and through — focused, heads-down, and driven. The team works four days a week in the San Francisco office with Fridays remote, and the environment rewards hustle, coachability, and a genuine passion for AI and technology.
