About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager with 7-15 years of experience to lead one of our core product engineering teams. We need a hands-on, product-minded technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about mentoring engineers. You will be a force multiplier for your team, setting clear technical direction, contributing directly to design and code, and fostering a culture of ownership and excellence as we modernize software for local governments.
What will you be doing?
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 3-7 software engineers, supporting their career growth and development.
- Partner with product and other functional teams to define and execute on the technical roadmap for core products.
- Remain hands-on, spending 20-30% of your time on coding, code reviews, and architectural design.
- Guide critical architectural decisions to ensure systems are scalable, performant, and maintainable.
- Champion high standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and overall engineering excellence.
