We are looking for a Senior Thermal Engineer (PhD + ~5+ years post-PhD experience) to join Phasic at the vanguard of AI-driven thermal hardware design. This is a rare opportunity for someone who genuinely geeks out over heat exchangers — not a generalist mechanical engineer, but a true thermal specialist who lives and breathes heat transfer and fluid dynamics. This person will play a critical role as the human-in-the-loop for our AI platform, validating, challenging, and extending what our system produces while filling gaps where the software cannot yet reach. You won’t just analyze designs — you’ll create them from a blank CAD file, ensure they are physically correct, and take them all the way through to manufacturable hardware. Your impact is direct: the better and faster you can design and validate systems, the more customers Phasic can support. If you love hard thermal problems, care deeply about manufacturability, and want to own a meaningful portion of the problem space at a high-intensity, seed-stage company doing something truly novel, this role is for you.
What will you be doing?
Phasic designs thermal hardware powered by Flux, our platform for advanced multiphysics inference and AI. Today, we build heat exchangers that deliver performance conventional engineering can't match — purpose-built for data centers, defense, and heavy industry.
