Tailor is pioneering Headless ERP technology — a new way for growing companies to design internal workflows that fit their business, not the other way around. Our platform combines the flexibility of modern developer tools with the power of enterprise-grade operations.
We’re helping multi-channel retailers, manufacturers, and B2B businesses replace rigid systems with adaptive, composable infrastructure. If you care about solving complex real-world problems and building products that scale from first principles, you’ll fit right in.
Lastly, we're a Y-Combinator backed startup and have recently closed our $37M USD Series A to accelerate the future of composable ERP.
We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join Tailor's Frontend Platform team full time.
This role will focus on building delightful frontend experiences for developers, building on top of Tailor's platform. This includes our developer Console application and frontend framework, components and libraries.
You'll work with our Core Platform teams in building user interfaces for platform features in Console and also the Forward Deployed teams in creating frontend applications used for delivering end-customer solutions.
Build and improve Tailor's Console — the primary interface for developers configuring and managing their Tailor applications
Develop reusable UI components and design system primitives used across our platform and customer applications
Create frontend abstractions (AppShell) that accelerate how forward deployed teams deliver customer solutions
Collaborate with Platform teams based in Japan to ship features end-to-end
Shape the developer experience for engineers building on Tailor's platform
Contribute to architectural decisions around our React/TypeScript stack
5+ years of professional frontend development experience
Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
Experience building design systems, component libraries, or developer-facing tools
Thoughtful perspectives on frontend architecture, state management, and developer experience
Comfortable working asynchronously across timezones (AU/JP/US)
You've shipped production software to real users and understand the difference between code and product
Experience building on headless/composable platforms or enterprise software
Terraform and Go experience is a plus, or you're excited to learn it

Tailor is the headless ERP that gives fast-growing retail brands a composable, API-first platform to run operations with speed, flexibility, and control.
🧱 Legacy ERP is too rigid: Systems like NetSuite and SAP take months (or years) to implement and break with every change. Tailor is modular, headless, and easy to adapt. 🧩 Point solutions don’t scale: Tools like inventory or order management software solve one problem, but can’t talk to each other or keep up with growth. 📊 Spreadsheets are everywhere: From demand planning to purchase orders, even $100M+ brands still rely on Excel. Tailor replaces duct-taped workflows with ops modules you can tweak, combine, or scale ⚡️ Complex workflows need custom logic: Whether it's multi-location inventory, DTC + B2B orders, or light manufacturing (like kitting or lot tracking), Tailor supports flexible automations out of the box. 👟 Operators can move faster: Launch backend modules in minutes, not months. Tailor's low-code tools let teams build, automate, and adapt without waiting on engineering or implementation agencies.
Built for composable retail:
Tailor is already powering operations at fast-growing omnichannel brands and modern manufacturers. We’re proud to be the first Japan-based company to join Y Combinator.
