About
the Role We're hiring a Senior or Staff Frontend Engineer to own the member-facing experience at Future. This is not a component-building role. You'll be shaping how our members interact with their coaches, track their progress, and stay motivated — and you'll have real influence over the decisions that define that experience. You'll work directly with product and design on a small, senior team. There are no layers between you and the work that matters.
What You'll Own: Product & Experience- Own the frontend architecture and implementation of our core member-facing product. Partner closely with product and design to translate vision into polished, performant interfaces. Build with the member in mind — you care about load times, interaction feel, and the small details that make an experience feel alive. Engineering Excellence- Set the standard for frontend code quality, component architecture, and design system usage across
the team. Build for scale — write code that the next engineer can pick up, extend, and ship with confidence. Instrument the frontend for performance and reliability. Know when things break before members do. AI as a Force Multiplier- Use AI to accelerate prototyping, code review, and documentation — then apply your judgment to sharpen the output. Bring a perspective on how AI can be woven into the member experience itself — personalization, intelligent UI, adaptive coaching flows.
Who You Are: Experience & Background 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with significant time on consumer-facing mobile or web products. Deep expertise in React Native or React, TypeScript, and modern state management. Strong design sensibility — you can work from a Figma file and know when something is off. You've operated at the Senior or Staff level — or functioned at that altitude regardless of title. Experience in a fast-moving startup where you've made smart tradeoffs between polish and velocity. Domain Passion You care about health, fitness, and the idea that great coaching can change people's lives. Working Style High craft. You see the difference between good and great and you care about it. Collaborative with design — you push back when something doesn't work and propose alternatives, not just problems. Low ego, high ownership. You do what needs to be done.
Nice to Have: Experience with health or wellness consumer apps. Experience building AI-powered or personalized product experiences. Familiarity with performance optimization for mobile apps at scale.
