Technical Account Manager, Mortgage

New York, United States
Full-time

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Account Manager with 3-7 years of experience to own the full customer journey for Axle's Mortgage vertical — from pre-sales technical support through onboarding, adoption, and ongoing success. You'll be the critical bridge between cutting-edge AI-native insurance infrastructure and some of the largest mortgage lenders in the country, helping them make business decisions in seconds instead of hours.

What will you be doing?

  • Serve as the technical and product SME for the Mortgage sales team during pre-sales, conducting design sessions and building workflows in Figma.
  • Lead end-to-end onboarding, configuration, and training across Axle's Dashboard, POS integrations, and Loan Origination System (LOS) integrations.
  • Act as the primary post-sales point of contact, nurturing relationships and driving measurable adoption and value.
  • Gather and synthesize customer insights to influence product roadmap and help build out the Mortgage Solutions organization.
  • Maintain and grow Axle's knowledge base, API documentation, and solutions resources.

Key Requirements

  • 3-7 years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Implementation, or customer-facing technical roles — ideally in Fintech.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, cloud services, and modern SaaS architecture.
  • Familiarity with Mortgage POS and/or Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
  • Exceptional communicator — able to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.

About Axle.insure

Axle is the AI-native clearinghouse for insurance, building the universal API infrastructure that bridges the multi-trillion dollar insurance industry with virtually every other sector. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in a Flatiron/NoMad office in NYC (with a West Midtown Atlanta presence), Axle's mission is to completely transform the communication layer for insurance — enabling companies to verify coverage, monitor policies, and make business decisions in seconds rather than hours, while helping consumers unlock their most underutilized financial asset. The platform powers agentic workflows and RESTful API integrations for Fortune 500 clients and household names including Rocket Mortgage, Hertz, Avis, Audi, USAA, and Experian. Axle has seen exceptional traction, with revenue growing 35% quarter-over-quarter to mid-7-figures ARR and best-in-class retention — all with a lean team of ~25 people. The company is backed by a blue-chip investor roster including Y Combinator, Gradient Ventures (Google's AI fund), Base10, and angels from Plaid and Cox Automotive, and recently announced a $17.5M Series A led by Base10. Culturally, Axle is a tight-knit, in-person-first team (4 days a week in office) that values real ownership, creative problem-solving, and moving fast — everyone drives measurable impact, and early team members are building verticals from the ground up.
