Trellis is building AI agents that run short-term rental operations end to end. Our goal is to build the next hospitality platform: not a marketplace that only lists stays, but the operating system that actually manages them.
We believe short-term rentals will increasingly be managed by agents, lowering the cost of operations while improving the guest experience. Trellis reached more than $600K ARR in under two months, and we are aiming to close the year at $5M ARR.
We are a small founding team moving quickly, with the ambition to define how AI-native software companies are built.
The Role
We are looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to help build the core infrastructure that allows AI agents to run short-term rental operations autonomously.
This is not a standard SaaS engineering role. Trellis is agent-first: we are not adding AI on top of a static product. We are building software that agents can operate, compose, customize, and extend for each customer.
You will work closely with Lodo and the engineering team. The team is highly horizontal, so you should expect to own large parts of the product end to end while contributing across the system.

Evaluation, monitoring, and verification systems for agent behavior
Self-improving loops based on traces, product usage, and operational data
Reliable, fast, mission-critical software for customers who depend on Trellis to run their business
Who We Are Looking For
We care much more about proof of ability than years of experience. You might be a fit if you have:
Strong full-stack engineering ability
A track record of owning projects end to end
Very high agency and bias toward action
Experience building with AI tools and agents
Comfort working with multiple coding agents or AI-assisted workflows in parallel
Strong product taste and the ability to reason from user problems to technical systems
A systems mindset: you do not just solve one issue, you build machinery that solves classes of problems
A data-driven approach to decision-making
The ability to move fast without losing sight of reliability
We especially like people who have done exceptional things early: built products, started companies, shipped ambitious projects, competed at a high level, or otherwise shown unusual intensity and ownership.
Prestige helps only insofar as it proves excellence. A top school, strong company, open-source project, startup, or personal project can all be useful signals. None are required.

How We Work
Trellis is intense. Our core values are responsibility, authenticity, and intensity. We want people who take ownership, tell the truth directly, and care deeply about the work.
This is not a comfortable 9-to-5 role. We work with founder-level density, high expectations, and a lot of trust. The upside is that you will get much more ownership, learning, and responsibility than you would in a normal engineering role.
We are flexible on how people work, but not on commitment. We also do team retreats in great locations.
Location
Europe-based candidates preferred. We are remote-first for now, but we expect frequent in-person work and may build around a European hub, likely Paris. We are open to exceptional candidates anywhere in Europe, especially if they are willing to relocate or spend meaningful time with the team in person.
Compensation
Salary: $80K–$120K (higher for truly exceptional candidates)
Equity: 0.5–1.5% (meaningful equity for outsized impact candidates)

Trellis (legal entity: Trellis Tech, Inc.) builds AI agents that run operations end-to-end for short-term rental (STR) property managers. Its platform replaces the fragmented stack of 5–10 tools that operators typically use — covering guest communications, cleaning/maintenance dispatch, vendor coordination, owner updates, and claim filing — with a single agentic layer that maintains full operational context across all systems. Rather than fixed software, Trellis dynamically generates workflows and interfaces around how each operator runs their business.
