The Role Crescendo is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Content Moderation Associate (Level 1) to support Grindr, the world’s largest Gay, Bi, Trans, and Queer social networking platform, serving over 13 million users globally. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, respectful, and authentic digital environment by enforcing Community Guidelines across user-generated content. This position requires strong decision-making skills, discretion, efficiency, and the ability to review high volumes of potentially sensitive material. Please note: This role involves exposure to explicit, offensive, or disturbing content. What You’ll Do: Core Moderation Duties Review and moderate user-submitted photos, text, videos, and reports (flags) in accordance with Grindr’s Community Guidelines Make accurate, consistent, and timely moderation decisions Issue warnings or permanently ban users when policy violations occur Document moderation decisions clearly and accurately within backend systems Escalate sensitive, high-risk, or ambiguous cases to Team Leads or Management Moderation Queues (Key Tasks) Photo Moderation (Photo Mod) Flags Moderation (User Reports / Flag Mod) RN Moderation (Real-Time / Rapid Notifications Mod) Quality & Operational Support Participate in calibration sessions and product meetings related to moderation Support management in identifying emerging trends, new abusive patterns, or banned terms Report system discrepancies, tool bugs, and backend UI improvement opportunities Assist in onboarding and training new moderation associates as needed What We Expect From You:
Requirements Strong alignment with and support for the LGBTQ+ community High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity Technically proficient with mobile apps, backend systems, and digital tools Ability to process a high volume of decisions accurately within SLA targets Detail-oriented with strong analytical judgment Capable of working independently with minimal supervision Adaptable to evolving policies, tools, and workflows Prior experience in online moderation or community management is a plus Measuring Success: Performance will be evaluated based on: Decision Accuracy: Near-perfect adherence to Community Guidelines Documentation Accuracy: Clear and precise case notes supporting moderation actions Productivity: Consistent completion of hourly and daily output targets SLA Compliance: Timely processing of assigned queues Policy Consistency: Alignment with calibration standards Work Environment: High-volume decision-making environment Exposure to explicit, graphic, or disturbing content Performance-driven metrics (quality and productivity balance) Continuous policy updates and tool enhancements What You’ll Get In Return: Hybrid working arrangements Competitive base salary Generous paid time off Comprehensive
