About the role
We are looking for a Founding Product Designer with 2+ years of experience to own the full design surface of a first-of-its-kind cognitive fitness tracker. You'll be the first dedicated design hire at Soma, working directly with our neuroscientist founder to shape what gets built — not just how it looks. This is a rare opportunity to define the design language for an entirely new ambient product category at the intersection of consumer health, neurotech, and voice AI. We need someone who thinks in systems, obsesses over engagement loops, and can translate complex scientific data into beautiful, consumer-friendly experiences.
What will you be doing?
- Partnering closely with the founder to design engagement and growth loops that make the product sticky and retentive
- Taking raw scientific cognitive metrics and transforming them into intuitive, data-rich dashboards that consumers love
- Building Soma's design system from scratch and developing the visual and interaction language for a voice-first, ambient product
- Rapidly iterating on designs based on beta user feedback to drive the product toward public launch confidence
- Working closely with engineers to ship production-ready interfaces for the Mac app and future platforms
