We are looking for a Founding Growth lead with 1-2 years of experience to own Soma's pre-launch and launch growth strategy — someone who is naturally magnetic, scrappy, and strategic. You'll be the first dedicated growth hire at a neurotechnology company building the world's first software brain-computer interface (think Strava for your brain). Your North Star is growing our user base to 100,000 users by launch in early October. This is a role for someone who can be the face of what we're building, get people genuinely excited, and back it up with data-driven experimentation.
What will you be doing?
Building and scaling community — running in-person events, creator/influencer partnerships, and referral channels to grow our early user base from 14,000 to 100,000
Running full-stack growth experiments across acquisition, retention, and referral — from hypothesis through analysis — and doubling down on what works
Collaborating with the founder on product-led growth loops, using product feedback and user metrics to inform strategy beyond just social media and events
Developing brand narrative and content — telling Soma's story through video, campaigns, and digital content (including supporting the founder's personal content)
Being scrappy and creative while staying disciplined about measurement — understanding not just what drove attendance, but what actually moved the metrics that matter
We a neurotechnology company building the world's first software brain-computer interface. Our cognitive fitness tracker leverages voice as a biosignal to continuously measure cognitive changes: think Strava for your brain.
Founded by Jiali Zhang, a neuroscientist with a PhD from Oxford who previously decoded memories from neural data, Soma sits at the unique intersection of consumer health, neurotech, and voice AI: three of the hottest categories in technology today. The platform surfaces trends and insights on mental clarity, cognitive load, stress, and more, all through a purely software-based approach that requires no hardware devices.
Soma's mission is simple and ambitious: to make brain health accessible, measurable, and actionable.
We are backed by investors who backed Oura, Canva, Coinbase, and SpaceX at similar stages. Soma is a first mover in this space, building proprietary voice biomarker technology that detects cognitive and neurological changes from speech patterns.
The team is small, deeply technical, and design-forward: currently four people including the founder, operating out of their new office at Levi's Plaza near the Embarcadero in San Francisco.

No applications, no recruiter spam. Just the intro.
A few questions to make sure this role is the right shape for you. Two minutes.
I write the intro, send it to the founder, and handle the back-and-forth.
If they’re a yes, I book the chat. You show up — that’s the whole job-hunt.
