We are looking for a BI/Analytics Engineer with 4+ years of experience to own data modeling and pipelines at a rapidly scaling data company disguised as a healthcare platform. You'll join a lean but high-impact data team (currently just 3 people supporting 70+ engineers) and be responsible for building the foundational data layer that powers customer-facing reporting and future ML/AI products. This is a hands-on-deck role where you'll shape messy, complex data models into something reliable and scalable – working closely with product, operations, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, can quantify their impact, and brings the pace and ownership mindset of a high-growth startup.
What you will be doing
Owning and maturing the data modeling practice – building critical models and pipelines that power customer-facing reporting and analytics
Scaling and cleaning up existing data infrastructure to support increasingly large and complex enterprise customer integrations
Partnering closely with product management and internal operations teams to understand data needs and deliver accurate, trusted outputs
Deep diving with engineers to understand complex production data and ensuring visualization platforms (Metabase) are accurate and available
Setting the foundation for future ML and AI products by improving data quality, governance, and pipeline reliability
Candid Health is remaking the health insurance claims process with a transformative RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) automation platform custom-built for medical providers to end unnecessary human intervention. The company sits between provider groups and insurance companies to facilitate clean payments for everyday insurance claims — addressing a $280 billion per year industry that is fundamentally broken.
Founded in 2019, Candid Health started within the digital health space and has built a significant footprint supporting digital health providers on their insurance payments, serving as the back-end billing engine for them. The company has since expanded into the traditional healthcare market, with its primary growth story now oriented around enterprise ambulatory providers.
Mission & Culture
Candid's mission is to address the administrative burden of healthcare by automating the claims process and eliminating manual intervention. The company is product and engineering-led, deeply customer-driven, and operates with a builder's mindset — working with beta customers to build features, then deploying them broadly to expand their market.
The culture is defined by four core values they screen every candidate against: outcome orientation, introspection, grit and hustle, and intellect. Candid has more than 2.5x'd revenue, team size, and headcount every year, creating an environment of rapid growth and high expectations. They lean toward hiring from high-growth startups (Series A through E) and value people who can quantify their impact and move at pace.
Candid operates on a 4-day in-office schedule across their hub cities, with flexibility for employees with families. They are currently in a foundational stage of building out their go-to-market engine, having historically grown through founder-led organic sales — making it an exciting time to join as they invest heavily in marketing, sales, and commercial functions for the first time.
