Lead Technical Writer

Full-time

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Technical Writer with 3-5 years of experience to be the voice of Slash engineering — turning the hard, interesting things our team ships into writing that engineers actually want to read. You'll be embedded directly within our engineering team (reporting to our CTO), working closely with engineers to understand what they're building and crafting compelling blog posts, technical deep dives, and social content. Slash has reached unicorn status ($100M Series C, $1.4B valuation) with just ~65 people and 12 full-time engineers — but almost nobody knows how incredible our engineering team is yet. You'll change that.

What will you be doing?

  • Own the Slash engineering blog end-to-end — sitting with engineers, understanding what they shipped, and publishing posts that do it justice
  • Pump out high-volume technical content (targeting ~10 posts/month initially) covering everything from crypto infrastructure to agentic payments to fun side projects engineers build
  • Write and manage engineering-focused social media content on X/Twitter and LinkedIn to build Slash's engineering brand and attract top talent
  • Embed with the eng team daily — proactively hunting down stories worth telling rather than waiting to be handed them
  • Translate engineers' rough ideas and scratch notes into polished, compelling pieces written in their voice — like a young, Gen Z-native tone that resonates with the team

About Slash

Slash is building the future of business banking, one industry at a time. We believe businesses deserve financial infrastructure tailored to how they actually operate. That's why we're creating a new category of business banking. We combine the reliability of traditional banking (high yields, competitive rewards, and comprehensive security) with industry-specific features that make businesses more efficient, more competitive, and more profitable.

Started in 2021, Slash is one of the fastest growing fintechs in the world and we power over ten billion dollars a year in business purchasing across numerous industries. We recently raised a $100M Series C led by Ribbit Capital with participation from Khosla Ventures, Goodwater Capital, NEA, and Y Combinator, accelerating our expansion into new markets and products.

+++

Slash was founded by Victor Cardenas and Kevin Bai in 2021. The company started as a neobank for self-employed individuals, with a particular focus on resellers Early reseller customers loved Slash because we provided them with virtual cards, enabling them to enter competitive raffles for limited-release products.

Within 11 months, we were processing $11M in monthly card volume, generating approximately $5M in annualized revenue. After the decline of the sneaker market in late 2022, we successfully pivoted by systematically reaching out to our largest customers to discover their new ventures. This led us to develop specialized solutions for ticket brokers and performance marketing agencies, finding product-market fit with these new verticals.

We are now forging a new path forwards, with 2 new initiatives: AI and global.

  • AI: We are launching our agent Twin to customers for them to be able to manage their finances where work - Slack, iMessage, email and more. Twin will also unlock cross platform capabilities as we plug into their systems of record, letting you categorize spend directly into your ERP for example.
  • Global: The ability for Slash to serve more geographies via crypto. Stablecoins are an enabling force that allow us to offer USD banking products to businesses all over the world.

Today, Slash processes billions in yearly card volume, has over $300M in annual revenue, and serves thousands of businesses across multiple industries.
