Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Associate - Atlanta

The Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring team handles sophisticated restructuring matters, including creditor-side Chapter 11, workouts, restructuring negotiations, distressed M&A support, and related restructuring litigation. This practice often intersects with finance because many matters involve credit agreements, secured creditor rights, intercreditor disputes, and negotiated resolutions.

Atlanta is an expansion opportunity: the firm is open to adding a bankruptcy associate to complement the finance anchor and build broader transactional coverage in the new office.

Role Summary

The Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Associate will support and lead workstreams on creditor representations in Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructurings. The associate will draft pleadings and motions, analyze restructuring options, negotiate resolutions, coordinate with finance/corporate teams, and support contested matters where needed.

Responsibilities (Detailed)

• Draft and support pleadings, motions, objections, and related filings in Chapter 11 matters.
• Analyze creditor rights, liens, priority, adequate protection, and plan treatment.
• Support negotiations in workouts, forbearances, amendments, and restructuring term sheets.
• Coordinate with finance teams on credit document interpretation and secured creditor strategy.
• Assist with contested matters, discovery, and related restructuring litigation.
• Provide client-ready updates, timelines, and strategy memos.

Required Qualifications

• JD and active bar membership.
• 2–6+ years of bankruptcy/restructuring experience (flexible based on strength of reps).
• Strong writing skills and comfort with rapid deadlines.
